Recorder – Version 1.0

Description:
————
Allows you to record a live stream to a network share, USB flashdrive or microSD card. It can also display the URL of the current stream for use with external players.

Installation steps:
——————-
1.  Unzip the recorder10-272.zip or recorder10-306.zip file.

2a. If you want to record to a USB drive, then modify the recpath.txt file to contain the following:
USB,<folder where to put recording>

For example:
USB,tvpadrec

In this case the channel will be recorded to your USB drive in a folder called “tvpadrec”. Note: The folder will be created automatically if it does not exist.

2b. If you want to record to the microSD card, then modify the recpath.txt file to contain the following:
SD,<folder where to put recording>

For example:
SD,tvpadrec

In this case the channel will be recorded to the microSD card in a folder called “tvpadrec”. Note: The folder will be created automatically if it does not exist.

2c. If you want to record to a network share that does not require authentication, then modify the recpath.txt file to contain the following:
Network,<folder where to put recording>,<TVPad’s Mount Point name>,<IP address of the Windows machine>,<Network Share name>,guest

For example:
Network,tvpadrec,MySeries,192.168.1.100,Series,guest

In this case the channel will be recorded to the Series network share on host 192.168.1.100 in a folder called “tvpadrec”. Note: The folder will be created automatically if it does not exist.
The <TVPad’s Mount Point name> is not really important, you can give it any name you want. It will probably be removed in future versions.

2d. If you want to record to a network share that requires authentication, then modify the recpath.txt file to contain the following:
Network,<folder where to put recording>,<TVPad’s Mount Point name>,<IP address of the Windows machine>,<Network Share name>,<Username>,<Password>,<Domain or Workgroup name>

For example:
Network,<folder where to put recording>,MySeries,192.168.1.100,Series,user1,mypass,domain1

3.  Create a directory (folder) called “recorder” on your USB drive or microSD card.
4.  Copy the recpath.txt file to the “recorder” directory of your USB drive or microSD card.
5.  Copy the recorder272.pkg file (for M121) or recorder306.pkg file (for M121S) to your USB driveor microSD card.
6.  Connect the USB drive or insert the microSD card to your TVPad.
7.  Install the package like any other app.
8.  Run the recorder app to activate it (the loading window will simply appear and disappear again… this will be improved in future versions).
9.  Now start one of the live channels and do one of the following:
- Press F4 (green) to start recording.
- Press F1 (red) to stop recording.
- Press F2 (yellow) to display the URL of the current stream. You can then use this URL to stream the current channel from your PC, tablet, etc.

Notes:
——
- The app always reads the recpath.txt file when you press F4 to start recording.
Note: The app automatically copies the recpath.txt file from the USB drive to the microSD card. So after the first run you can remove the USB drive.

- The recpath.txt file contains NO SPACES!!! That’s how it should remain.

- The entries in the recpath.txt file are case-sensitive, so for example do not write “usb” instead of “USB”.

- You can add multiple lines into the recpath.txt file, but only the first line will be read.

- If you have an M120 TVPad model, then F3 is used to start recording and F4 is used to display the URL. We will try to fix this in future versions.
